The Probate Court is on E. Broad Street, in Newnan. It is a big white government building just one block off the courthouse square that houses many other county government functions.

Process:

$55 to the probate court, cash only. The application paperwork only took a few minutes. $5 to the Sheriff's office for prints, cash only, they don't give change so have exact amount. I got there a few minutes after opening and had to wait around 10 minutes. Prints are taken electronically.

Process:

I did the application today. It took about 15 minutes at the court house, 10 minutes transit time to the jail (go to bonding) and then about 10 minutes to do the fingerprint thing. The only suprise is the license fee has gone up to $70.00 but fingerprinting is still only $5.00. Everyone was courteous and helpful. I was told I should have the license in my hands withing 30 days. I did all transactions in cash and made sure to have the correct change though the gals at the court house would have made change.

Comments:

No problems at all and I did have other business in beautiful downtown Newnan so I made a morning of it.

Comments:

Everyone including LEO's at jail very polite and helpful. Did not request any information other than the information on the form.
