NO RENEWAL PROCESS in HALL COUNTY !

Step 1: Carry License Application (must be HALL county resident & have drivers license) Drivers license must show current street address or utility bill in your name to validate address. Go to Probate Court (minimum 30 min to 1 hour total time after you park) parking deck available next to court location, Metal detector at door, REMOVE any small weapons(knifes) you have in pockets. Go to end of hall on right side after main entrance & metal detect. Fill out the application, several pages. It is a non-renewal type form, identical to new applicant. PAY $55.00 with cash, local check, money order.

You will receive typed instruction sheet for next 2 steps that must be completed in 2 business days. This due to House Bill 89 passed in 2008, O.C.G.A. 16-11-129

Step 2: Back Ground Check Application Go to "Hall County Records Division" (old jail) (minimum 30 min to 1 hour total time after you park) 610 Main Street, Gainesville (About 1 mile from Probate Court by car.) At this time, PARKING was a PROBLEM for me. Take paper work from Probate Court to right side entrance of building. At one and only window inside, Request "BACK GROUND CHECK FORM" for Carry license. Fill out forms & pay $15.00 exactly. CASH or money order oNLY ! (no checks)

Step 3: Figer Prints Go to new HAll County Jail (about 10 to 15 min ride from old jail) 1700 Barber Road Gainesville 9am to 5pm, MON thru THURS only ! Only one entrace to building. The non-INK process is used, completely digital, all 10 fingers. $5.00 cash or money order, EXACT amount

NOTES:
