National Forests (listed here) |
| USDA Forest Service rules for carry in a National Forest are simply whatever the carry laws of the state the forest is in.
For Georgia that means only the buildings on Forest land are off-limits as they would be a publicly owned building. |

National Parks Rule Change 512, P.L. 111-24 (List of National
Parks in Georgia) |
(b) Protecting the Right of Individuals To Bear arms in Units of the National Park System and the National Wildlife Refuge System- The Secretary of the Interior shall not promulgate or enforce any regulation that prohibits an individual from possessing a firearm including an assembled or functional firearm in any unit of the National Park System or the National Wildlife Refuge System if--
(1) the individual is not otherwise prohibited by law from possessing the firearm; and
(2) the possession of the firearm is in compliance with the law of the State in which the unit of the National Park System or the National Wildlife Refuge System is located.
Note that federal law says carrying in a "federal facility" (18 U.S.C. 930) means that any building that is posted as no firearms means you cannot carry inside the building.
(Yes, I do know that the law says you can carry in the facility with any "other lawful purpose" with should include having a carry license. However the National Park Service says that they are protected under that law and they are the ones inforcing it so beware.)

National Wildlife Refuge
Federal Regulation
50 CFR 27.42 |
| (e) Notwithstanding any other provision in this Chapter, persons may possess, carry, and transport concealed, loaded, and operable firearms within a national wildlife refuge in accordance with the laws of the state in which the wildlife refuge, or that portion thereof, is located, except as otherwise prohibited by applicable Federal law.
(concealed carry with a license on the land but not in the buildings) |

No Signage Laws |
| A "No Firearms" sign on a private business does
not mean anything. If your firearm is noticed, they simply ask
you to leave. If the police arrive and you still refuse to leave you can
be charged with criminal trespass. You keep your permit even if convicted.
However, some "public gatherings" (and any of the areas
off-limits) such as a county hospital or the post office may have signs
posted to inform you they are off-limits. You probably will lose your
permit for several years if convicted.
So, just because you see a sign does not mean it is or isn't off-limits
and just because you don't see a sign does not mean it is or isn't
off-limits. |
